The project
Ousebank was appointed to provide Contract Administration services for the prestigious conversion and refurbishment of the former Minster School into the York Minster Refectory, a high-quality restaurant situated within the historic York Minster precinct. The project involved the sensitive transformation of a Grade II listed building dating back to the 1830s, combining the restoration of historic architectural features with contemporary interiors, bespoke finishes and modern hospitality facilities. The development also incorporated sustainable technologies, including solar roof slates and air source heat pumps, alongside improvements to the surrounding public realm. Working collaboratively with the appointed professional team and specialist contractors, Ousebank provided contract administration services to support the successful delivery of this landmark hospitality development, which was officially opened by King Charles III and Queen Camilla in April 2023.
